Stainless steel steam trap is a reliable device used for high-demand hot steam systems that require exceptional durability. This equipment is highly resistant to corrosion. Our stainless steel trap steam products are provided in various sizes and diverse types to optimize their performance for different systems.
General Introduction to Stainless Steel Trap Steam
Stainless steel trap steam devices are primarily constructed from stainless steel, which is a non-corrosive material. Their main function is to remove condensed water from within hot steam systems while retaining useful hot steam inside. This ensures the system operates steadily, achieves high efficiency, and maintains stable performance.
Using stainless steel, also known as stainless steel, as the main material provides several advantages compared to cast iron or steel trap steam devices, including:
– Excellent corrosion resistance, protecting the equipment from corrosion caused by fluids or external environments.
– The inner surface of the device undergoes minimal chemical reactions with most common fluids in hot steam systems. This helps reduce the need for equipment maintenance during usage.
– High temperature and pressure resistance, meeting the working temperature and pressure requirements of boiler systems used in industrial applications.

Classification of Stainless Steel Trap Steam
Based on their structure and operating principles, stainless steel trap steam devices can be classified into three main types: mechanical trap steam, thermodynamic trap steam, and static trap steam.
Mechanical Stainless Steel Trap Steam
This type of device operates based on the principle of the Ac-si-met thrust force acting on a float to open and close the condensate drain valve. It is designed in various forms such as float ball or inverted bucket.
Mechanical trap steam devices are typically used in systems with low to medium pressure. They have a simple construction and operating principle, making maintenance tasks easy. However, since their operation relies mainly on mechanical mechanisms, certain parts may be susceptible to wear and tear over time.
Thermodynamic Stainless Steel Trap Steam
Thermodynamic trap steam utilizes the principle of thermal expansion of materials to open and close the valve since condensate water has a significantly lower temperature compared to hot steam.
Based on the laws of physics and the working characteristics of the system, the thermodynamic stainless steel trap steam device is designed with a temperature sensor element connected to the trap steam spindle and valve disc. When there is sufficient condensate water in the system, it cools down the temperature sensor element of the trap steam, causing it to contract and open the valve. Then, under the influence of high pressure, the condensate water is discharged. Once all the water has been drained, the hot steam passes through the valve. Due to the temperature of the hot steam, the temperature sensor element expands, causing the valve to close. This cycle repeats accordingly.

The device has high sealing performance and stable operation. However, there will be a certain delay in the opening and closing of the valve, requiring more frequent maintenance.
Stainless Steel Dynamic Steam Trap
The device operates based on the principle of thermodynamics. Inside the valve body, there is a metal disc that directly controls the opening and closing of the condensate water by relying on the changes in temperature and pressure acting on the upper and lower surfaces of the valve disc.
Stainless steel dynamic steam traps have the ability to work under high-pressure conditions and handle a large amount of condensate water. However, during the operation of the device, there is a significant loss of steam.
Applications of Stainless Steel Steam Trap
In practice, stainless steel steam traps are rarely used in conventional hot steam systems due to their relatively high cost.
Stainless steel steam traps are primarily used in industrial systems, especially those with high safety requirements, resistance to chemical corrosion, or systems with high working temperatures, which require durability for the equipment.
Here are some examples that demonstrate the application capabilities of stainless steel steam traps:
Pharmaceutical industry: They are commonly used in pharmaceutical manufacturing, for processes such as distillation and extraction of raw materials, where strict quality control standards must be met.
Food and beverage industry: The equipment is often used in food and beverage processing applications, where safety requirements are very high.
Oil refining industry: This equipment is commonly used in oil refining applications in places with high temperatures and pressures.
